The Red Sox and manager Terry Francona parted ways after a disappointing end to the 2011 season. Since then, there has been much speculation about who will manage one of baseball’s most dominant teams. In early December, the Red Sox officially introduced Bobby Valentine as their next manager for 2012. Carson Palmer is somewhat of an enigma. He was an amazing college QB and a great NFL QB. However, once he injured his leg against the Steelers in a playoff game several years ago, he hasn’t been the same. He still shows touches of brilliance, but he also throws way too many interceptions. The talent is there, but he’s missing something. Maybe it’s desire or dedication. It’s difficult to tell.

After a season of high hopes and wishful postseason play, many Dallas Cowboys fans were left asking, “What is wrong with Tony Romo and the Cowboys?â€
The question shouldn’t be so much about Tony Romo, although he will bear the brunt of scrutiny because he is the quarterback. But, he had his best statistical year, throwing for more than 4,100 yards, 31 TDs and 10 INTs. He finished fourth in the QB rating behind only Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and Drew Brees. In his rookie season Chris Johnson led Tennessee in rushing with 1,228 yards, and his 81.9 yards per game topped all rookies. He was honored by earning selection to the Pro Bowl and finished second to Atlanta QB Matt Ryan in Rookie of the Year voting.
In his second season (2009), Johnson turned in one of the greatest seasons by a RB in NFL history, gaining 2,006 yards rushing, just the sixth to eclipse the 2,000 yard milestone. The NBA strike was an interesting event. Nobody thought the NBA was going to be in action this season. However, the league is running and it’s exciting. The players might not like the hectic schedule, but it sure is fun to watch. It’s also easy to see which teams will be able to handle the brutal schedule and which teams will fade into oblivion.
